SOUTH POINTE
NSI worked with the developer in the sectioning of this lakeshore property on
Wisconsin's prestigious Lake Owen
. The peninsula was divided into five lots exquisite for home or vacation. The survey was conducted in a manner that minimized any environment impact or concern.

TIERRA SHORES AND SAWGRASS SUBDIVISIONS
NSI worked with the developer to complete an environmentally sensitive 15 lot subdivision with views of Lake Superior near Cornucopia, Wisconsin. The plan features walking easements, view corridors, vegetative buffer zones, and natural areas.

CONDOMINIUM PLATS
NSI has prepared numerous condominium and condominium conversion plats in Northern Wisconsin. The planning process includes complete property surveys, location of all improvements, and a thorough understanding of all applicable zoning laws.

BAYFIELD COUNTY GPS CONTROL SURVEYS
Since 2002, NSI has completed GPS control surveys for four townships in Bayfield County. These surveys consisted of remonumenting existing public land survey corners and obtaining GPS coordinates for the corners. Complete maps of the township were prepared and the data was entered into the county database.
REMESS LAND COMPANY
NSI surveyed and mapped a 1,000 acre parcel in Northern Wisconsin. Ten and a half miles of exterior property line was established. The final survey map was used as a sales brochure.
CONSOLIDATED PAPER COMPANY, INC.
NSI completed a GPS survey for Consolidated Papers Company, Inc. in Winter, Wisconsin. The survey was based on the Wisconsin HARN Network. Twenty geodetic control stations were established in the 30 square mile project area. The entire network was adjusted using STARNET GPS software.
DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE - UNITED STATES FOREST SERVICE
NSI has completed various property line surveys for the United States Forest Service. These surveys were completed using a combination of traditional and GPS surveying techniques in the subdivision of sections, corner monumentation, and property line markings.

ASHLAND COUNTY LAND RECORDS COMMITTEE
NSI was responsible for establishing the control monuments in Ashland and Iron Counties for a five county GPS project funded by the WLIB.
ASHLAND COUNTY ZONING DEPARTMENT
NSI was responsible for monumenting the centerline of the Wisconsin Central Railroad tracks from the city of Mellen, Wisconsin to the county line between Ashland and Iron Counties. The monumented points were then tied to the Wisconsin HARN network with GPS.
TRANSMISSION LINE SURVEYS
NSI has completed surveys for Lake Superior District Power Company and Northern States Power Company (now Excel Energy) for the following transmission lines. The surveys consisted of all or some of the following: air photo control coordination and placement, establishing horizontal and vertical centerline staking and brushing, marking right-of-way lines, structure and anchor staking, construction inspection and field design.

COUNTY TRUNK HIGHWAY "H", MADELINE ISLAND
The State of Wisconsin upgraded 15 miles of County Trunk Highway "H", portions of the highway were completely reconstructed and the remainder was reconditioned to meet County Trunk Highway standards. NSI was responsible for all horizontal and vertical controls.
NATIONAL PARK SERVICE
NSI completed property and topographic surveys of the light houses located on Outer and Raspberry Islands.
WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
NSI has provided the Wisconsin Department of Transportation with horizontal and vertical control on numerous highway relocation projects in Northern Wisconsin. NSI also completed the design work for both phases for the Bretting access project on US Highway 2 in the City of Ashland.
DRAINAGE AND PARKING LOT IMPROVEMENTS
Chequamegon Hotel, North Country IGA, and the Gallery Restaurant retained NSI to redesign their parking lots and entrances to aid in the facilitation of drainage.
INDUSTRIAL PARKS
NSI has participated in the development and expansion of the Ashland Industrial Park and the Odanah Industrial Park. The projects included design for improved access and drainage patterns, air photo control, lot development, mapping and construction staking.
FOX RUN SUBDIVISION
NSI was retained to design a 60 lot subdivision in Hayward, Wisconsin. This included: design of sanitary sewer, water distribution system, and storm drainage. NSI was responsible for construction management, layout, inspection, and project management. The surveying and construction staking were completed by Heart of the North Surveying of Hayward, Inc.
HOUSING AUTHORITY PROJECTS
NSI was responsible for survey, inspection, contract administration, design, and construction layout for housing authority projects in the following locations: Bad River, Wisconsin - Red Cliff, Wisconsin - La Courte Oreilles, Wisconsin - Watersmeet, Michigan - Mole Lake, Wisconsin and Danbury, Wisconsin.
HAYWARD COUNTRY INN
The 90,000 square foot parking lot design, surface drainage design, building and lighting layout were completed by NSI. The surveying and construction staking were completed by Heart of the North Surveying of Hayward, Inc.
WETLAND DELINEATION
NSI has completed several projects that included the surveying and mapping of wetlands and wetland area. |
